More About Us
If You See Something, Say Something...
T.H.E. Rabbit Resource is named after Thrennion, a character in the classic story, Watership Down," by Richard Adams. Thrennion's Hoppy Endings Rabbit Resource has made it a goal to educate and advocate for rabbit welfare, as the namesake rabbit did in the story.
We strongly believe that no domestic rabbit should be dumped or allowed to freely exist unprotected outside, or suffer abuse or neglect. Domestic rabbits are not equipped to handle the environment or the search for safe food. Excuses such as, "I had rabbits in a hutch out in the yard growing up and they were fine," are not acceptable. Times, research, and public opinion have changed. With education, more opinions will change. And with that, new or updated laws will be enacted concerning the acceptable treatment of all animals, in particular to this page, rabbits. There IS help available. Do not wait until you feel the only option is to dump the rabbit at the local park. This is ILLEGAL. It is unacceptable in 2026. Make a plan that includes your pet's best interest.
Changing opinions, rules, laws, and behaviors takes time, but it starts with YOU. Be the one who cares!
